Planer har tagits fram för att bygga en återvinningsanläggning för upp till 250 kt bottenaska från avfallseldning i Widnes

A site designed to recycle ash from incinerators in Widnes could be constructed after plans were submitted to Halton Council, according to an article in Runcorn & Widnes Weekly News.

A design and access statement accompanying the application said the facility could recycle up to 250,000 tonnes of incinerator bottom ash (IBA) annually, which would divert ‘waste away from landfill’ and create ‘a sustainable source of secondary aggregates known as IBAA’. It adds that the facility would primarily accept waste from the proposed Energy From Waste site in Runcorn, which is currently under construction, and create nine full-time jobs and one part-time role in the process.

The article, from November 17, can be read at Runcorn & Widnes Weekly News’ webpage
